Alumni

The Glen Montessori School has a rich, 30 year history of preparing children to thrive and succeed in a complex and changing world.

For more than thirty years, The Glen Montessori School has been a vibrant community working together to encourage our students to grow to their fullest potential.  Some time may have passed since you last visited – and we invite you to stop by! We would be honored to show you our current building (the old Perrysville Elementary School in the North Hills School District) and visit the newly renovated gym, outdoor play area and see our new climbing wall and our Glen Gardens.

We are always happy to have Glen alumni and former students come visit, reconnect with teachers and catch up with former classmates.  To make arrangements for a visit, please fill out the Glen Alumni Questionnaire to the right, and reach out to Marcia Fischer at mfischer@glenmontessori.org. We will be sure to send you invitations to special events and other communication from The Glen!

Our Alumni in Action

GlenPerson

How would you recognize a graduate of The Glen?

They are inquisitive
and problem-solvers
.

The Glen cultivates a learning environment which encourages curiosity, out-of-the-box thinking and resourcefulness. Daily community meets provide a forum for addressing problems and finding solutions. Our grads approach obstacles as opportunities for learning and finding creative solutions. They have learned how to think.

They are great leaders
and team players.

Cooperative, project-based learning is a large part of the Montessori Elementary model, and Glen grads have developed the skills needed to work together. They have honed their communication skills, time-management skills and ability to delegate work efficiently in order to meet real-world goals. They have learned how to collaborate.

They are insightful and knowledgeable.

At The Glen,  students are empowered to take ownership of their learning with guidance and oversight from their teachers. Through this process, our grads have come to know their own strengths and weaknesses and how to advocate for themselves. They have learned how to learn.

They are global citizens and community builders.

Montessori education opens the world to the child. Our grads have learned all about their world in both space and time, about their place on the Earth, and about how they themselves fit into the vast sweep of human accomplishments. Armed with their broad perspective, our grads are able to speak their minds eloquently, stand up for themselves and others compassionately and resolve differences of opinion peacefully. They have learned how to make peace in the world.
