Puppets, Pizza, and Pajamas is a fun, casual family evening! Traditionally, we wear pajamas for this event (hence the name), but feel free to dress in whatever comfortable attire you prefer. Children and adults should expect to sit on the floor for the performance (minimal chairs will be available).
If you are able, bring a new pair of pajamas with the tags still on as part of our Pajama Drive Service Project. We are partnering with Crisis Center North, which serves individuals affected by domestic violence.
This year, we welcome Puppets for Pittsburgh, presenting Aesop’s Fables. Initially commissioned by the Carnegie Libraries of Pittsburgh for a pre-pandemic regional tour, the performance was revised this past summer with Roving Art Cart and Alphabet Tales and Trails. Featuring Cheryl Capezzuti’s puppets, each has been made from items discarded by the library. Capezzuti’s giant puppets have been the main attraction at the First Night Pittsburgh Parade most years since 1998, and she is responsible for the Giant Puppet Dance Club at the Pittsburgh International Airport as part of the Art in the Airport program.
Don’t hesitate to contact mfischer@glenmontessori.org if your family needs financial assistance to attend this event.
