Revised June 25, 2021; goes into effect on June 28, 2021
The Glen is revising its Travel Policy for students, families, and staff, effective Monday, June 28, 2021. We will closely follow the Center for Disease Control (CDC) travel guidance for vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals and the CDC’s Travel Tips for Families with Unvaccinated Children. All children at The Glen are considered to be unvaccinated.
All international travel (vaccinated or unvaccinated) requires the traveler to quarantine for 10 days before returning to The Glen OR provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken 5 days after travel and quarantine for a full 7 days.
Regarding Domestic travel (within the continental US): Vaccinated individuals may return to school/camp/work at The Glen upon their return home.
Unvaccinated individuals who travel domestically and follow the “Safer” suggestions made by the CDC for all aspects of travel (people, transportation, accommodations, food, etc.) will not need to quarantine before returning to The Glen.
However, quarantine for 10 days (or provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken 5 days after travel with quarantine for 7 days) will still be required for travel that involves “Less Safe” or ”Avoid” activities during domestic travel.
For your convenience and quick reference, we have summarized the “Safer”, “Less Safe”, and Avoid” activities here.
— Your family goes on a camping trip to Cuyahoga Valley National Park outside of Cleveland, Ohio. You travel in a personal vehicle and stay at a local campground in tents or your private RV. You cook all your own meals, hike, bike, and kayak in the river. You share the campground showers and facilities, but are careful and wear masks in those facilities or when you come in contact with other people. There is no need for your children to quarantine when you return to The Glen.
— Your family rents an Airbnb with your sister in the Outer Banks. Everyone over 12 is vaccinated, but her 8-year old and your 5-year old twins are not. This is considered a high-risk activity and your Glen students will need to quarantine upon return from your trip.
