Why is The Glen’s NAEYC accreditation important?

The Glen Montessori School has held accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) since 2010. Acquiring and maintaining this accreditation requires tremendous documentation of activity in our classrooms, but brings with it the assurance that our school offers the highest quality in early childhood education, including elevated standards for teacher preparation, student safety, stimulating learning environments and intentional decisions about ensuring children’s success.
NAEYC accreditation brings access to conferences, legislative influence and a network of like-minded schools and early childhood education professionals with the same high expectations and values. The resources provided in this community are an enormous benefit to The Glen as we continue to push ourselves and the greater early childhood education community forward.
NAEYC accreditation is established as a reputable indicator of quality and correlates with children’s greater readiness and success in school and beyond, including increased educational attainment rates and overall healthier lifestyles.
NAEYC also has resources for families. They can be found here.
