Children’s House (ages 3 to 6)
Children’s House is a three year program where the individual developmental needs of children ages three to six can be met and nurtured. The curriculum includes work in math, language, science, geography, sensorial, and practical life. Children develop their sense of self-esteem, independence, order, gross and fine motor coordination, concentration, and respect for self, others, and the environment.
This holistic approach allows the child to experience the joy of learning and the time to enjoy the process. As opposed to a more traditional preschool or daycare, teachers follow the child and individualize the learning for each student.
The Children’s House program provides a morning “work cycle” at the start of each school day. During this uninterrupted period, teachers present lessons to children and children practice their work with calm and focus.
Kindergarten Year
The Kindergarten year is the final and culminating year of our Children’s House program. Children receive dedicated Kindergarten community time in the afternoons and publish their Kindergarten books, which are featured at our Young Authors’ Tea each April.
