Stixrud and Johnson make a case with which Dr. Maria Montessori would certainly agree: Children can be quite independent and responsible and need more control of their lives. Through case studies, the latest discoveries in brain research, and their own experience, the authors share how parents can tackle the challenge of giving children more agency.
