Head of School for a Day and Mr. J for a Day!

Ultimate Administrative Power or the Power of the Whistle
– Which Would You Choose?
Each year, The Glen Snowball Dance brings our community together for an evening of fun—and most importantly—to raise essential funds for Scholarships to The Glen.
One of the event’s most exciting traditions is the Silent Auction, where families bid on donated items and unique experiences, with all proceeds benefiting our scholarship program. Among the most coveted auction items year after year? The chance for a student to become Head of School for a Day or, new for 2025—Mr. J for a Day!
In 2025, the Baney and Frawley families went all in, winning these unforgettable experiences for students of their choice. Here’s a look at the fun that followed:
Mr. J for a Day
Gianna took on the beloved role of Physical Education Teacher and with it, the Ultimate Power of the Whistle! She led gym classes alongside Mr. Jeremy for students across all age levels: Toddlers, Kindergarteners, Lower Elementary, and her fellow Upper Elementary classmates. Gianna also handled carline duties, attended a special procurement meeting with Head of School Jackie Herrmann, and even greenlit an exciting new investment: a brand-new Gaga Pit for the school grounds. Check out the photos below for a glimpse of her action-packed day—and the new Gaga Pit!
Head of School for a Day
Ella—the second in her family to have this illustrious experience—was awarded the title of Head of School! Ella made her mark by declaring Friday, May 16, Taylor Swift Era Day, inviting students to dress up in outfits inspired by their favorite Taylor Swift album eras: Taylor Swift (Debut), Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore, Midnights, and The Tortured Poets Department.
Ella’s responsibilities didn’t stop with fashion and school spirit—she signed off on a fire drill, hosted an administrative lunch meeting, established a new section of the Montessori Minute (“Acknowledgements”—see more in the new year!), read to students, welcomed visitors, took phone calls, and made announcements over the PA system like a true leader.
These student-led days not only brought joy and laughter to our halls but also served as a wonderful reminder of the creativity and generosity within our community. Thank you to all who participated and supported Scholarships to The Glen through your spirited bidding!
