The Glen is closed for two weeks beginning Monday, March 16
Following the order of Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf, The Glen Montessori School will be closed for two weeks starting Monday, March 16 in an effort to contain the Coronavirus. At this time we expect to resume classes on Monday, March 30. We encourage all Glen families and faculty to follow the best practices and recommendations of our public officials.
The unique nature of a Montessori education means that for the foreseeable future your child will not have their usual Glen experience. However, our teachers are preparing to engage children and support their continued learning in a new way—remotely.
Our faculty will be reaching out to families to provide guidance and materials for children to continue their learning at home. You can expect to receive an email from your child’s teacher very soon as to what you can expect in the coming weeks. It will be a new experience for all of us – but The Glen remains committed to providing our families (at all age levels!) with the tools for students to continue to grow and thrive, despite this regrettable interruption.
As a Montessori school, we meet the needs of each child where they are—and we will do our best to accomplish this in new ways for the coming weeks. Please continue to look for updates on social media and the Montessori Minute.
We strongly encourage families to restrict travel and follow the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) regarding travel. Our guidelines for exposure to COVID-19 (as communicated to families last week by your child’s teacher, the Montessori Minute and our website) will remain in effect when this health crisis subsides and we are able to resume school.
When we do reconvene, rest assured that we will pick up your child’s learning and continue “follow the child” in their work of moving forward.
