In memory of our student Ariel Silvaggio, The Glen hosts a blood drive each year during Pediatric Cancer Month to raise awareness and support the thousands of children affected by these diseases. This year, instead of hosting the blood drive, we are asking everyone who might be able to donate blood to sign up and donate at your local Vitalant Donor Center and use The Glen code #Z0021073.
Ariel, during her 2 1/2 year battle with leukemia, needed more than 95 blood products to help her fight this dreaded disease. During the COVID pandemic, blood supplies are even more scarce and the need has never been greater. Please take an hour from your day and donate blood products to help these children, and others, in need of blood products.
As an added bonus, Vitalant is not testing all blood donations for COVID-19 antibodies. In addition to saving the lives of children with cancer, it is possible your blood products will help those affected by our current pandemic too!
